River North
The River North neighborhood is located in the Near North Side community area of Chicago, Illinois. Bounded by Michigan Ave., Chicago Ave, and the Chicago River this neighborhood is known for it’s art galleries with the second largest concentration of art galleries in the United States. In addition to the art galleries there are many bars, restaurants and other entertainment venues. In the Kingsbury park area there are even some newly built residential high-rises surrounding Erie Park.
Shopping
River North is a great place for antiquing, with almost 20 different antique stores. In addition there are plenty of furniture and home decor stores. If you are looking for men’s or women’s fashions try The Merchandise Mart or the Apparel Centers.There are also plenty of boutiques such as En Vain or Henry Beguelin.
Galleries
The gallery district, containing nearly 70 world-class art and antiques galleries is located primarily along Superior and Huron streets and features such galleries as the Andrew Bae Gallery (dedicated to contemporary asian art), the Roy Boyd Gallery (focusing on abstract art, Perimeter Gallery Inc (exhibiting contemporary painting and sculpture), and the Schneider Gallery (presenting contemporary photography).

There are many great restaurants in the River North neighborhood, even a theme-restaurant area with many tourist-oriented restaurants including the Rainforest Cafe which surrounds diners with the sights and sounds of a tropical rainforest, Fogo de Chao which is all about the meat, and of course the Hard Rock Cafe.The night life is great too…
There are some great bars and clubs in the area. For example Blue Chicago, an upscale bar with lots of female vocalists and Baton where the female performers are just pretending.
